Watercolor Fun

I had taken off Tuesady from work to attend a Watercolors class taught by Janie Johnson at Jerry's Artarama in Raleigh, NC. For the longest time I had been wanting to attend a watercolor techniques class, so this was perfect!! Not only was Janie absolutely adorable, I learnt skills and techniques in that class which I thought were wonderful. Her enhtusiasm and her passion for painting made the 6 hour long class go by very fast. We learnt how to compose our subject, sketch, do a value study, mix colors, preparing the paper plus more. Below I have included some of the pictures from the class.

Janie's piece (fabulous isn't it?)

Meera's painting (what do you think ?)

Janie introduced us to this new set of Primacolor markers which were fabulous to do a value study. They come in cool and warm grey tones. The colors I used for my sketch were from the Cool Grey tone collection (10%, 30%, 50% and 80%).
